Healthy Early Years (HEY) Award

We are very proud to announce that both our nurseries in Ecclesfield and Middlewood have achieved their HEY Award and our nurseries in Frecheville and Broomhill are also on their way to achieving it.

The Healthy Early Years (HEY) Award is aimed at supporting the improvement of the health and well-being of children and families across Early Years settings. The service supports parents and carers in providing a healthy start for their children enabling them to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

Completing the HEY Award gives us the opportunity to learn and develop our skills and improve the great work we already undertake as an Early Years Provider which benefits both our staff and your families. It also shows our commitment to ensuring that the children are getting a good start in life and that we are working in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and the Ofsted Common Assessment Framework.

HEY Award Training focuses on health and safety, food and healthy eating, parent partnership and involvement, immunisation, building relationships and physical development.

Our staff have focused on considering how we are implementing these areas in our settings, what we do to support personal, social and emotional development and communication and language development, and through the process of completing the award they have come up with brilliant ideas on how to improve and develop these areas.

We are committed to giving your children an enjoyable introduction to healthy food and food education and we always do our best to provide tasty and nutritious meals. We have embedded healthy living into our everyday workplace practice and we are constantly working on ways to improve our practices.
