With more years of childcare experience than she cares to mention and a Foundation Degree in Early Years, Donna is one of our Elmore pros. Before Elmore Kindergarten, she served with the Army Cadet Force for 20 years, training 13-18 year olds, so she has a diverse set of skills, working with children of all ages. This may also explain how she came to get stuck in the middle of an obstacle course! We need more details Donna and photos too!
It could also be the reason why she is the Queen of Clean! If she was a superhero, her name would be Cleaning Star because she’s obsessed with cleaning and no-one is going to dare leave the place looking messy, not on her watch! She is well respected for her organised and thorough approach and her ability to take on every challenge with a positive attitude. She loves spending time with the children and watching them learn new things every day and enjoys spending her spare time taking her grandchildren away in their caravan.
Her favourite aspect of her job, is meeting new children, just starting out at nursery but also seeing children who have left and popped back for a visit. You know what they say, “make new friends but keep the old, one is silver, the other gold!” If she could be a Disney character for the day, she would choose to be Cinderella, but it’s not the glass slippers she wants or a Prince Charming, it’s that obsession with cleaning again! Feel free to come and do our houses Donna!
Deputy Early Years Manager
Always ready with big grins and warm cuddles, Jemma is our smiling sunbeam of Middlewood Kindergarten. With an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and working towards her Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Children and Young People’s Workforce, she is one of life’s grafters but still manages to bring an enormous sense of fun to every occasion.
The best meal she’s ever had is her Mum’s meat and potato pie with super thick pastry and Henderson’s Relish. What Sheffield lad or lass doesn’t love Hendos?!! We’ve always known that she’s got a bouncy personality, but we didn’t know that she once did a 200ft reverse bungee jump for charity! Suddenly, I wish I’d not just been talking about meat and potato pie!
Jemma loves watching the children develop and playing a part in their early education. Her Superhero name would be The Chaos Co-ordinator, an appropriate title as she’s never seen without her trusty notebooks, post it notes and lists and loves to get involved with organising events and activities for the nursery. Is it a bird, is it a plane, no it’s The Chaos Co-ordinator! She likes getting stuck into anything outdoors, upcycling and messy arts and crafts. Quick, Donna, fetch a cloth!
